The Garmin Rino 600 Series radio is a great companion for the outdoor adventurer! Garmin combined a rugged handheld GPS with a waterproof FRS/GMRS radio to provide the ultimate in navigation and communications while on the route or on the trail.
As a two way radio, the Garmin Rino 650 supports all 22 FRS/GMRS channels plus 8 GMRS repeater frequencies. Hands-free (VOX) use is also supported, forth with a vibrate mode, 121 squelch codes and a contacts list.
Equally a GPS, the Rino 650 offers a high-sensitivity GPS receiver and quad helix antenna. This is the second generation of Rino that I have owned. They are heads above the remainder every bit far as the applied science they possess. The GPS performance is among the best and the power to track on your screen where other members of you're political party are is valuable, especially if y'all are a hunter. I tin fix the radios to allow polling and can put information technology in my Polaris Ranger with someone else driving and I can pinpoint the Ranger's location when I am hiking/flushing out game. You can wirelessly transfer your GPS coordinates for basecamp or where the game assign is to the other members of your party. Without this feature inbound those waypoints is tedious and a huge waste material of time.
